I am an honors graduate from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT) 1000-hour certificate program, class of 2003. I also received a certificate in Zen Shiatsu in 2006 from BCMT. I have been nationally certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork since 2003. I am a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association. I have been continuously practicing massage in Boulder, Colorado since 2003.
My work encompasses a wide spectrum of approaches, from soft tissue manipulation and deep tissue techniques to visualization and stretching. I have training in Orthopedic/Sports Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Zen Shiatsu, Swedish Massage, as well as continuing education credits in Prenatal/Postpartum Massage from BCMT and Craniosacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute.
Originally from the east coast, I came to Colorado as a geologist. My second career as a pastry chef/baker gave me more of the physical challenge that I felt was lacking in my first career. During this time, I experienced first-hand how effective regular massage could be. Massage allowed me to continue working after incurring numbness and weakness in my hands and arms and helped restore me to health. I embarked on my present career, wanting to combine both the mental and physical challenges of my previous occupations in a therapeutic setting while adding the human connection piece that was missing.
Like so many of my fellow Boulderites, I enjoy being outdoors and am a recreational climber, runner, and telemark skier.
