It has recently felt like spring has sprung here in Boulder, Colorado. The crocuses in my yard are blooming yellow, purple and white. My body also has felt the promise of spring. Adding running to my exercise regimen has reminded me of the need to stretch my hamstrings and calves. My quads get a good workout during the winter months from hours of telemark ski turns. Now I look forward to concentrating my self-massage on the backs of my legs as well as the front.

My clients are also stepping up their physical activity whether it be by running, bicycling, hiking or cleaning their yards. It is always best to add activity gradually to warm up your muscles and build them up rather than subjecting yourself to intense activity without previous training.

This is also the perfect time to get a massage. This works out the tightness and soreness you might generate from an over enthusiastic welcome to spring.
